Before coming to Fredonia, I was sure about my path. I was registered as a Music Education student and was so happy. After taking Digital Marketing with Dr. Huang, my entire viewpoint changed. His class was so interesting that it actually convinced me to change my major. I realized that I was enjoying this general education class more than my major specific courses. Now, over a year later, I am so incredibly happy as a Marketing major, and I've even added a Social Media minor. Best decision ever!

In my last year I had to switch my major very suddenly. My advisor, Jill Marshall, went to every meeting giving me all the reassurance I needed. At the end of all of it, she told me everything was going to be okay, and I would thrive in a new environment. She gave me a hug in her office after she listened to me cry about changing my life within a few months. She’s the best human being and the biggest support I needed while I got through that challenging period.

Two things stick with me. First, had the opportunity (as a transfer from OCC, Syracuse) to sing with the Chamber Singers during my Junior and Senior years. Second was the absolutely priceless opportunity to have studied, albeit for only one semester, with the genius of Doctor Walter Hartley. Several things that I picked up from him have influenced virtually every song/composition I have written since (which by the way amount to well over 1,200).
